Thinking... church leadership. For us as a church (COTH), what does that mean? God dropped this one in me this morning, "A faithful follower of Jesus, who is an owner of the church vision and has developed a positive influence in the lives of others that produces spiritual growth". I'll be using this in our leadership development material... kind of take it in bite sized pieces to help us understand it better.
Main points... Faithful follower of Jesus, Ownership of the church vision, positive influence and spiritual fruit. One of the truths from the parable of the talents I read this morning is that Jesus equated fruitfulness (multiplication) with faithfulness. The guy that only maintained what he had was not considered faithful! Wow... really wrecks the just get by list of things to do...
Time to shake ourselves... wake up and lead!
